With quotes like - “Thank god for charter schools. There is no room for innovation in the standard system.” Mr. Gates shows why he should certainly be allowed to fund whatever education/school models he wants, but that he has WAY too much say in what happens in US public education. Maybe he should request suggestions on innovative classrooms to visit on one of his websites. On the other-hand, the kind of charter schools he finds "innovative" make me question what his definition of innovation is as it pertains to education and schools.

I am trying to get my grandfather to go back to school to get his diploma. He dropped out of school in the third grade, so he could be a mason in America. Now he is retired and bored out of his mind. I suggested that he go back to school and maybe get a nice relaxing job to get him out of the house. I have sent him information from one of those accredited online high schools. I figured it is a good start for him. I wish my grandfather the best of luck.
